Historically, archives have documented societies, shaping interpretations of the past and future. However, dominant narratives often overlook marginalized voices, particularly Dalit women and sexual minorities.
JFP aims to address this gap in knowledge and representation. We will explore innovative methods for archiving, access, and engagement with caste issues, leveraging both traditional and digital technologies.
This public repository will focus on caste in Nepal and beyond, with a particular emphasis on materials by and about Dalit women and sexual minorities. Open-source platforms will be central to this initiative, fostering participation by Dalit communities as both knowledge producers and users.
We believe that information, like wealth, education, and status, should be equally accessible. This archive preserves community knowledge, enables reuse of information, and facilitates dialogue between history, memory, and the present.
