Just Futures Fellowship (JFF) is an 18-month long intensive program offered to Dalit women who wish to tell their own stories. The fellowship helps them build their critical reading and thinking skills, immerses them in writing practice, and engages them in discussions around caste, gender, class and sexual minorities. Through this intensive engagement, we hope to help our fellows subvert the narrative of being othered and being the subject of study to becoming active agents in writing and representing their own experiences.
The JFF Fellowship offers a curriculum built with a beginners and intermediate-friendly approach. Our faculty work closely with our fellows in guided discussions, fully facilitated workshops and close reading and writing sessions. Gaining a certification of this fellowship grants the fellow the experience of being a scholar and the opportunity to come away with a stronger portfolio of creative work. The JFF also grants our fellows the necessary credentials to further goals of being an educator, researcher, activist or creative.
