“I want to learn to speak and write about Dalit and caste issues—and empower others to do the same.”
Pramila BK is a Dalit woman from Sindhupalchok, a village school teacher and a Bachelor’s degree student. She has endured severe personal violence, varied forms of discrimination and profound poverty, and is fiercely determined to turn that lived experience against caste and gender-based injustice through her writing and activism. She has already published in local media and wants to write with greater force still. She joined the Just Futures Fellowship to deepen her understanding of caste, gender and sexuality, to advocate against the marginalisation of Dalit women, and to carry what she learns into daily life.
