We warmly invite you to participate in the public event being organized on June 8 (Jestha 25) to commemorate and honor Subhash Darnal on the occasion of his birth anniversary. This annual event aims to contribute to the creation of new ways of thinking by encouraging new questions on the issue of the caste system and inspiring people to imagine just futures.
Subhash Darnal (1980–2011) was a visionary leader who had a profound impact on the discourse on caste and social justice in Nepal and beyond. During his short yet inspiring life, he was deeply engaged in establishing caste as a fundamental reality of Nepali society and advancing knowledge production and research by Dalit communities. In particular, his ability to think beyond conventional approaches and his investment in a new generation of Dalit thinkers and leaders made an exemplary contribution toward building a just, inclusive, and democratic society.
With this dream in mind, Just Futures Pahal (JFP) has launched a new bold podcast titled “Whose Narrative?” The programme has been produced under the leadership of JFP Director Gauri Nepali, in collaboration with her colleagues and fellows. In the programme, she will discuss the significance of this initiative alongside the launch of a new podcast series produced by Dalit women. The first episode of the podcast will be presented during the programme.
