An announcement has been published to select two students from among students in the final year of their MA or MPhil studies under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Tribhuvan University Central Campus, Kirtipur, for the Research Grant for Knowledge Production, in coordination with Just Futures Pahal (JFP) and the Central Department of Anthropology.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria:

  • The research must focus on one aspect of the intersection between the caste system and class, gender, or sexuality.
  • Applicants must be Dalit students studying at the MA or MPhil level in any subject under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Tribhuvan University Central Campus, Kirtipur. Dalit women students will be given priority.
  • Students at the postgraduate level must be in their final year.
  • MPhil students must have been enrolled in the programme.

Responsibilities and Facilities for Selected Research Grant Recipients:

  • Each selected student will be provided with a research grant of NPR 100,000 (one hundred thousand rupees only).
  • Along with financial support, necessary space for research and study will be made available at the JFP Learning Center.
  • Selected students will be provided opportunities to attend various seminars and lecture series organized by Just Futures Pahal.

Documents Required for Application:

  1. A brief outline (Abstract) of the research that the applicant plans to conduct or is currently conducting, consisting of at least 500 words, must be submitted.
  2. Motivational Letter: A maximum of 2 pages describing the applicant’s introduction, a brief description of the research, and the motivation for conducting research on the chosen topic.
  3. Personal Details (CV/Bio-Data/Resume).
  4. Student Identification Card.
  5. Citizenship Certificate.
  6. Passport-size photograph.

Alternatively, applicants may directly fill out the application form through the Google Form: https://bit.ly/4lKq4fV. Applications submitted through any other means will not be accepted.
  2. Incomplete applications or applications missing the required documents will not be accepted.

Application Deadline:

Applications must be submitted by 6 Bhadra 2082 (August 22, 2025). Applications submitted after this deadline will not be accepted.

Language of Research:

Students may conduct their research in the language prescribed by their university or college, or in a language of their choice.

*Note:

Selected students will be required to comply with other rules and regulations related to the Research Grant for Knowledge Production. Once applications with all required documents have been received, the Evaluation Committee will complete the necessary procedures and select eligible students.
